2021 Term 4 Newsletter

Welcome back everyone to term 4 to the Kapiti Music Centre.  Albeit a very short term.

The term 4 dates are Monday 18th October to 4th November with our concert day for Saturday 6th November.  N/B: Monday 25th October is Labour Day so this lesson will be made up on Monday 8th November or when your tutor has arranged it.

Grande Concert Cancelation

It was with a heavy heart that it was decided to cancel our Grande Concert with our senior students.  There were a couple of reasons but obviously Covid-19 and the audience restrictions of 100 was a big factor.  We were all working hard on our concert pieces, but we can give them a go for our 2022 concert.

Instead, we will be putting on an Open Day on Saturday 6th  November at the Kapiti Performing Arts Centre.  Very similar to what we did last year where each tutor will showcase their students and what they have achieved throughout the year.

Times and further details will be released ASAP.  Your tutor will be in touch to find out numbers of those wishing to attend the recital as we are restricted to 100 people only.

A Koha will be asked at the door.

Instrument Hire Return

For those who wish to return their hired instruments, I will be a KPAC on Tuesday 9th November to collect them.  3.30 pm – 5.30 pm.

The KMC offer Summer Hire for those wanting to hold on to their instruments.  This is at a cost of $40.00.  Details on the form but I will be in touch closer to the time with more information.

Around the Schools Tour

Some of our more senior students were all geared up to undertake a tour of some of the local schools back in September but of course Covid had other plans.  We do hope to still go ahead with this once the level of risk has lowered.

Enrolments for 2022
If you are definite that your child will be returning in 2022 you can go online and enrol from our website.  If you are thinking your child may want to try another instrument, then come along to one of our enrolment days in February 2022 and talk to the tutors.

Enrolments Dates:

Saturday 12th February 2022 10.30am – 12.30pm
Tuesday 15th February 2022 5.30pm – 7.00pm

These will be held at Kapiti College.

First day of lessons are Monday 28th February 2022.

Covid 19 Times

I would like to acknowledge your understanding and your kind consideration throughout the latest lockdown in August.  It certainly isn’t ideal, but we would like to thank you for your patience through these tough times.  Next year will hopefully bring less disruption.

A reminder also, to please stay home if your child is feeling unwell.  Much appreciated.

Office Hours
The Managers position is part time.  Email is the best form of communication.  Please do not expect a same day reply.  If you have an urgent communication, please contact you tutor directly.
