Term 3 Newsletter

Welcome back to Term 3

Term dates:

A reminder that this term ends on the 27th of September and that we have a midterm break Tues 27th and Thursday 29th August.

Monday the 26th of August will be used for our Monday students to make up for the up-and-coming Labour Day which lands on the 28t Oct.

Some tutors might use the Tuesday or Thursday to do replacement lessons that were lost during the year, but your tutor will keep you informed.

Term 4 starts Monday 14th October.

Concert Day is Saturday 23rd November.  Please read below.

Saturday 23rd November

This is our big Concert Day where the students get to perform to whanau and friends.  Times to be confirmed but please mark the date on your calendars.  It is held at Te Raukura ki Kapiti.

Classes and practicing

Time is flying and we have 12 lessons remaining for the year.  This is a friendly reminder that learning an instrument requires regular practice so when you enroll with the KMC, the tutors expect consistent practicing to take place in the home.  Ten minutes a day is better than one long practice a week.  This allows muscle memory to develop.

Students who do not practice will hinder the progress of the class and is likely to lose interest.  The Centre will discuss options with the student or parents/caregivers but reserves the right to shift or withdraw a student who is not practising or attending regularly without a refund.

To keep a place in the class students must attend regularly and those students absent for more than 3 lessons straight, without written or verbal notification, can be removed the roll.

Toilets in Te Raukura

Please use the available toilet downstairs by the stairwell.  Some students have been using the toilet in the Greenroom which is out of bounds.  Many thanks.

Statements/Invoices

Statements for outstanding fees have been sent out.  Please contact the manager if you have questions or issues.

Office Hours

The Manager’s position is part time.  Email is the best form of communication but please do not expect a same day reply.  If you have an urgent communication, please contact you tutor directly or phone 027-5261-875 to speak to the Manager.
