Hi, my name is Nadia and I currently live in Raumati Beach with my husband and four children. I started flute teaching as a university student in my hometown of Christchurch and spent ten years teaching at the Christchurch School of Music. Over the years, I have taught flute students of various age groups and abilities and am looking forward to resuming flute teaching at the Kapiti Music Centre this year.
My teaching philosophy is to make music accessible and enjoyable for everyone! My favourite aspects of flute teaching are seeing students get excited about music and witnessing their confidence in performing increase. I enjoy teaching a range of musical styles (classical, jazz, blues, pop and rock - yes, rock!) and encourage my students to put forward their own ideas of what music they want to play. If I can locate the music, we will play it! It's all about having fun while playing the flute.
