End of Year Concert – Saturday 21st November 2026 at Te Raukura ki Kapiti

Te Raukura ki Kapiti:

We are very grateful to Te Raukura ki Kapiti and Kapiti College that hosts the KMC and nurtures our special community we have in Kapiti, and we look forward to a great year ahead of learning, playing, and performing. Please respect this building as it is a communal space. Please, no running around and to be quiet when arriving and leaving. Sometimes the college undertakes important NCEA assessments. Thanks.

Please use the Main Entrance at KPAC – not the college one as that might be locked.

Yemma Barsanti:

Our exceptional and extraordinary tutor Yemma needs our support.

Yemma got diagnosed with Multiply Myeloma at the end of last year. This is cancer of the bone marrow plasma cells.
A Givealittle page has been set up to help towards her latest challenge, and we would love as many people as possible to share and be a part of her successful journey ahead.

Yemma’s passion and enthusiasm for all her students, past and present, is testament to how much love and support she has received so far but there is plenty more to be done.

Please check out the links as we hope to champion Yemma in any way possible.

Invoicing and Classes:
Invoices have been sent out via email.

The KMC offers group lessons for 30 lessons per year. Classes are established at the beginning of each year, so it is important that you commit to the full year as refunds cannot be offered after the first two weeks. We do not offer a term-by-term option.

The KMC tutors are very supportive of children learning sports as well as music therefore we will try our best to accommodate fitting in around the up-and-coming winter sports but sometimes it doesn’t work out – we will do our best, but our hours/days are generally set at the start of the year.

Enrolments:

If you are a returning student to KMC it is important that you enrol fresh at the beginning of each year regardless. Please make a note that it is not an automatic carry over and sometimes, if the tutor gets contacted directly, important information gets excluded from management. Thank you.

KMC Tutors:

Yemma Barsanti – Recorder, Intro to Music and Keyboard
Andy Russell – Drums and Percussion
Alex Trask – Saxophone and Clarinet and Flute
Doug Beilman – Violin
Mary Taylor – Violin and Ensemble
Amanda Kemp – Guitar, Ukulele, Glee, Band, Bass Guitar KMC Manager
Sandy Gilbert – Keyboard
Rosa Vincent – Cello

New Tutor:

The KMC would like to welcome Sandy Gilbert to the KMC family of tutors.

Sandy has been teaching piano for nine years and has herself being playing since the age of seven. We are blessed to have such an accomplished and experienced tutor join our team. Welcome Sandy.

Office Hours:

The Manager’s position is part time. Email is the best form of communication and will be replied to as soon as possible. admin@kapitimusiccentre.org.nz
Concerns:

If you have concerns or questions about your child’s lessons, please contact their tutor in the first instance. If for any reason you are unable to speak to their tutor, please contact the Manager.

Thank you and remember to encourage your children to keep practicing. Little and often is the best method but also to enjoy this gift of learning and playing music.

Warm regards

Amanda Kemp – Manager
