LABOUR DAY MONDAY 28TH OCTOBER NO LESSONS

Greetings

Last day for 2024 is our concert on the 23rd November but some tutors may need to follow up with makeup lessons the following week.

Concert Day is Saturday 23rd November.  Please read below.

Enrolments for 2025

A friendly reminder that each year you need to reenrol if you want to continue in 2025.  No student gets automatically rolled over so please feel free to go online to secure a spot for next year.

You might like to consider lessons as part of a child’s Christmas gift.  Get the grandparents, aunties, uncles to chip in towards a thoughtful present.  No better gift than learning a musical instrument.

A tutor will be in touch mid-February with class times and more information.  We try to accommodate the requested day and time as best as possible but because we deal mostly with group lessons, this all depends on similar abilities which needs to be matched up.

Some lesson days may change, not to mention the tutors might be different so please be aware that this might happen.

First lessons begin week beginning 24th Feb 2025 at Te Raukura.

Enrolment Days are Feb 1st and 3rd at Kapiti College if you wish to meet the tutor and find out more information otherwise, please feel free to enroll directly online.

Saturday 23rd November – Gold Coin Entry

A big shout out to the Creative Community Scheme who generously granted the KMC funding towards this great event.

Combined Concert

For those participating in the combined orchestral songs, there is a rehearsal upstairs in Puoro 2 Tuesday 5th November at 7.15pm.  It will go on for roughly 1 – 1.5 hours.  Your tutor would have informed you already if you are partaking in this.

Instrument Hire:

For those who hired an instrument for 2024, I will be at Te Raukura on Monday 25th November from 3.30 pm – 5.00 pm in the foyer.

For our records, please inform me if you have returned it to your tutor after the concert.

For those who are returning to KMC next year, we offer Summer Hire for those wishing to hold on to their instrument.  There is a charge of $40.00.

Please contact me if you are interested in Summer Hire.  admin@kapitimusiccentre.org.nz

Practicing

Now that we are getting to the pointy end of the year, it is paramount to practice.  Most students will be performing at the end of year concert so it’s important to not put the foot off the brake.

Thank you

A big thank you to Peter and Beverley McCombs for donating an incredible electric piano to the KMC.  The keyboard students will love learning on this beautiful instrument.

Te Raukura

Please use the available toilet downstairs by the stairwell.  Some students have been using the toilet in the Greenroom which is out of bounds.  Many thanks.
