Term 4 2025 Newsletter

LABOUR DAY MONDAY 27TH OCTOBER NO LESSONS

Greetings

Last day for 2025 is our concert on the 15th of November but some tutors may need to follow up with makeup lessons the following week.

Concert Day is Saturday 15th November at Te Raukura ki Kapiti.  Please read below.

Enrolments for 2026

A friendly reminder that each year you need to reenroll if you want to continue in 2026.  No student gets automatically rolled over so please feel free to go online to secure a spot for next year.

You might like to consider lessons as part of a child’s Christmas gift.  Get the grandparents, aunties, uncles to chip in towards a thoughtful present.  No better gift than learning a musical instrument.

A tutor will be in touch early February with class times and more information.  We try to accommodate the requested day and time as best as possible but because we deal mostly with group lessons, this all depends on similar abilities which needs to be matched up.

Some lesson days may change, not to mention the tutors might be different so please be aware that this might happen.

First lessons begin week beginning 16th February 2026 at Te Raukura.

Enrolment Days are Sat 31st Jan and 2nd February at Kapiti College if you wish to meet the tutor and find out more information otherwise, please feel free to enroll directly online.

Saturday 15th November – Gold Coin Entry

This is our big Concert Day where the students get to perform to whanau and friends.  Times below but please check with your tutor for more information.

A big thank you to the Creative Community Scheme who generously granted the KMC funding towards this great event.

We will also be running a $5.00 raffle desk for the chance to win free music lessons in 2026.  A call out for any volunteers that can help manning the desk for half an hour or so.  This would very much help us out a lot on the day so if interested, please contact the manager admin@kapitimusiccentre.org.nz or 027-5261-875.

Also, a shout out to any business or organisations who wish to donate to this raffle too.  Anything would be very much appreciated and it will get your name out there.  Please contact Amanda if you wish to help.  admin@kapitimusiccentre.org.nz or 027-5261-875.

4.30pm is our Combined Concert where some of our more senior students will be performing four numbers for the whole community to come along to and sing-along.

For our records, please inform me if you have returned it to your tutor after the concert.

For those who are returning to KMC next year, we offer Summer Hire for those wishing to hold on to their instrument.  There is a charge of $40.00.

Please contact me if you are interested in Summer Hire.  admin@kapitimusiccentre.org.nz

Practicing

Now that we are getting to the pointy end of the year, it is paramount to keep the practice going.  Most students will be performing at the end of year concert so it’s important to keep up the momentum.

Thank you

A big thank you to the Hickman family for donating two violins to the KMC.  We really do appreciate it.

Please use the available toilet downstairs by the stairwell.  Many thanks.
