Jill Duncan

Jill has been playing music since she was 4 when she taught herself the piano.  At 9 she took up formal piano lessons and has continued to play and study music ever since.  She has grade 8 piano.  She has many years of experience teaching music and playing with other musicians.  She enjoys all genres of music from classical, jazz to contemporary styles.  She has been tutoring Keyboard and Ukulele at Kapiti Music Centre since 2010 and has also taken on the role as Manager of the Music Centre in 2013.   Prior to tutoring with us she worked as a kindergarten teacher where her focus was early years music education.

Her passion is to bring people together to create music no matter what their age or ability. "Music is a universal language which can bring people of all cultures and beliefs to a place of common understanding". She brings her passion for children and music together to teach Keyboard and the ukulele.

Students learning the ukulele will need their own instrument and tuner.
Students learning the keyboard will need a 5 octave touch sensitive keyboard to practise on at home and purchase a music book.
